THOMAS C. MARSZEWSKI was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1966 and received a B.A. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University in 1988. In 1992 Mr. Marszewski received his Juris Doctorate from Chicago Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.
Tom Marszewski worked with James D. Montgomery and Associates from 1992 through March, 2001 and with Cochran, Cherry, Givens, Smith & Montgomery, LLC from March 2001-October, 2006.
Tom started his own law firm with Jeanne Galvin, named Marszewski & Galvin in March, 2007.
Mr. Marszewski is admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal. Mr. Marszewski is also a member of the trial bar before the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Marszewski has been involved in several jury trials as either lead counsel or second chair in both Federal and State Courts.
Tom Marszewski is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
Mr. Marszewski has performed important work of several cases which have resulted in multi-million dollar verdict and settlement awards for his clients including the following:
- 23.5 million dollar jury verdict against a Trucking Company (lead counsel).
- 18 million dollar wrongful death settlement against the City of Chicago.
- 16 million dollar settlement on behalf of a student athlete's family.
- 13.5 million dollar settlement against a fitness center involving injuries to a six-year-old boy.
- 9.8 million dollar personal injury settlement against an automobile manufacturer for a defective design of roof structure.
- 5.1 million dollar personal injury settlement against a hospital for failure to timely reintubate a patient in a Critical Care Unit.
- 1.9 million dollar wrongful death settlement against a hospital.
- 1.25 million dollar policy limits personal injury settlement on behalf of a four year old pedestrian who suffered a permanent brachial plexus nerve injury as a result of being hit in the street by an inattentive driver.
- 1 million dollar personal injury settlement on behalf of a twelve year old, third row passenger who was rear ended by a driver traveling at a high rate of speed on an interstate highway causing the passenger to suffer a mid femur fracture requiring two surgeries.
